We went to Home Depot and bought a piece of pine and 1/2" bead trim. Cut to length and put in screws.

Spackle, sanded and painted twice. It almost looks as though there were never a bar!

Keith decided it was best to rip off all the old baseboard instead of trying to mend it and nail new wood trim down. It was a great idea!
