Play Dress Up

June 28, 2009

The neighborhood little girls love to get together and play dress up princesses. Sometimes I see them all fancy with their princess costumes and heels which is the most adorable sight. I had some old dresses that I was about to toss when I thought it would be a great idea to turn them into play dresses.

Winnie the Pooh quotes

May 30, 2008

If you want to make a song more hummy, add a few tiddely poms.

If the person you are talking to doesn't appear to be listening, be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear.

It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?"

Just because an animal is large, it doesn't mean he doesn't want kindness; however big Tigger seems to be, remember that he wants as much kindness as Roo.

When having a smackerel of something with a friend, don't eat so much that you get stuck in the doorway trying to get out.

I am a Bear of Very Little Brain, and long words bother me.

When late morning rolls around and you're feeling a bit out of sorts, don't worry; you're probably just a little eleven o'clockish.

If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.

I used to believe in forever, but forever is too good to be true.

A bear, however hard he tries, grows tubby without exercise.

If you look closely, you can see me in her eyes.

Keith stealing a little boy's bike.

They look so adorable.

He's so sweet. He asked me if he could have a flower for his mom.

They were from this centerpiece that I got from the wedding we attended.

Then, the girls helped me water all my plants.

It was a great day!

Will it ever end?

March 29, 2008

The following night, we continued whittling away at the molding, wood paneling and pulling out the cabinets. By the time we came home from work, we were both exhausted. After hours of trying to wiggle the cabinets out, we said screw it and decided to pull everything out and take the counter off. If you're going to do something, you might as well do it right.

Here's the progress thus far:

We're removing this cabinet permanently to make room for a little dishwasher.

Come out! Ahhhhh

A bleeding hand and 30 mins later.

Errrr, rut the ruck are ray roing?!?

We pretty much stopped here. The screws just wouldn't budge.

Fortunately, Keith's brother-in-law saw the mess we were making and decided to give us a hand this weekend with the ceiling.

Unfortunately, they came and took Maui! :( I miss him already.

Aww well, who wouldn't want to go home with such a cutie patootie like her!

Valentine Cookie Party

February 15, 2008

On Friday, I had some friends and their children over for some cookie decorating. As some of you may have seen on beetv, "Cucumber knocks out Mrs. Snow Pea" I was preparing for my party. It was a real hit! Here are some pictures from the party since I had to peace out when my guests arrived.

The Setup: I bought the plates from Micheal's and the cloth with the hearts on it is from Target. It's actually a kitchen towel.

I "recycled" Miss Penguin's quilled hearts and spread them around for decor.

The kiddy table.

I baked 3 batches of cookies and used different shapes of cutters.

I made a big batch of royal icing. The bottles are from Micheal's. There are 18 bottles for $12.99. They also sell larger sizes individually for $1.99. Then add food coloring to the icing.

Sprinkles!

As we made cookies, we put them on a sheet to dry.

The kids couldn't wait, so they ate some.

Day 10

Mrs. Zucchini seems to be in happier spirits yesterday. She's getting very large too. She's about 2 1/2" inches tip to tip now. I think it's about time I put her into the ground before she gets too large and traumatized when I move her.

Everything else is coming up as well.

My sugar snap peas and snow peas are getting very tall. This weekend, I will have to work on creating a trellis for them to climb towards the fence.

Look at my sign! Damn squirrels.

DSC02274.JPG

The girl's nextdoor were examining the crime scene. "Why did Mr. Squirrel eat your sign!?"

Then they took the sign home and said they would fix it for me with tape.

Day 5 continued..

I went to bedroom to get changed and what do I see outside our window? The girls next door were standing under our sprinkler with umbrellas. How precious! Of course I ran and got the camera to take a picture.

I was doing a search for garden tags and found these from Ina Garten. Coconut frosting (yuck) with pansies. How cute! I love the Barefoot Contessa.
